Rotary youth leadership awards is a leadership program coordinated by ROTARY CLUB around the globe. Individuals aged between 14-30 yrs attend these events organized by the club’s district committee. The specific format of these events may vary from district to district, but they typically consist of seminars, camps or workshops focused on developing leadership skills. On 28th of September 2024, walking into the seminar room, there was an air of anticipation mingling with enthusiasts and experts from diverse backgrounds. As we settled down, there was a hum of excitement around. Soon the program got a spiritual start with the Saraswati Vandana followed by a speech from president of Rotary Club, Padmini Kota Rtn. Neeta Mittal, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Chairperson Subha Gupta , Secretary Rtn. Gurpreet Anand and our Principal Ma’am Sheetal Sharaf. Then we were briefed what RYLA basically is, after which our first session titled “Excuse Me!!Please” was started in which we learnt how to act politely, respectfully and how to love ourselves. Our second session started with the song “Dil ye ziddi hain” followed by “ASTANGYOGA” (8 limbs of yoga) with the help of a simple exercise and planks done by students then it was all brought to an end with the song “Teri Mitti”. After a packed lunch we came back to our third session which was more of a stand up comedy type where everyone bursted out with laughter. It reflected the message “We fit the best in our shoes” literally with an example. Our fourth session was about “Critical Thinking” in which we were all made to dance, solve problems and were divided into groups to make outfits out of newspaper. The eventful day concluded with a token of appreciation to everyone.
