As the moon takes full glory on this day, millions of people gather to celebrate this vibrant occasion. This auspicious day marks the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism and the first guru of Sikhs. It is celebrated every year coinciding with the full moon day of the Kartik month, according to Hindu calendar. This year it is celebrated on November 15th. On this harmonious morning of Gurupurab the students of ‘Career Point Gurukul School’ held a special assembly. The assembly started by the choir reciting a delightful rendition followed by offering prayers to Gurunak Ji., The atmosphere was filled with calmness and integrity. The prayer was then followed by an efficacious speech. It enlightened us signifying the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Some of the key teachings include oneness of humanity, living the life of truth and harmony, treating everyone equally and the importance of self service to others. The speech filled harmony in hearts of students. Guru Nanak’s teaching also emphasizes on universal values such as love, humanity, equality and service which appeal to people of all faiths.
