Friendship is a priceless gem that enriches our lives in countless ways. Let’s first learn about the Origin of Friendship Day.
Friendship Day, as we know it today, has its roots in the early 20th century. The idea was first proposed by Joyce Hall, the founder of Hallmark Cards, in 1919. However, it wasn’t until 1935 that the U.S. Congress proclaimed the first Sunday of August as National Friendship Day. Over the years, the concept gained international recognition, with various countries adopting their own dates for celebrating friendship.
Friendship is a unique relationship that transcends boundaries and brings people together. It’s a bond based on trust, empathy, shared experiences, and mutual support. Friends stand by us through thick and thin, offering a sense of belonging, comfort, and companionship. Research has shown that having strong friendships contributes to our emotional well-being, reducing stress and enhancing our overall quality of life.
