Usually, we students struggle with day to day problems in our growing age which are quite uncomfortable to discuss with our parents and teachers. To help us overcome this challenge, our school organized a discussion with adolescent counsellor, Dr Akhil Agrawal.
Initially it was hard and embarrassing to have such open discussions on adolescent problems, but when Dr. Akhil stated some facts and busted some age old adolescent myths, it all came back to normal. Generally such topics are not discussed openly due to many reasons, the biggest of which is shyness and how others will judge us. But discussing our challenges with Dr. Akhil helped us gather answers to many unanswered questions about one’s emotional, physical and sexual health. Now we are completely aware of how our adolescent body and mind functions. The session has helped ease our insecurities about adolescent emotions.
The session was overall greatly done. We students look forward to sessions like this as topics like these are not often discussed.
