The day 2nd<\/sup> October comes up with the birth anniversary of the two greatest people in history. They are none other than \u2018The Father of our Nation\u2019 and our \u20182nd<\/sup> Prime minister\u2019. \u2018Mohandas Karam Chandra Gandhi\u2019 and \u2018Lal Bahadur Shastri\u2019 played a prominent role to save our future so that we could become independent.\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Gandhi\u2019s life gave us the values of peace, non-violence (ahimsa), truth (satyagraha), compassion, self-discipline, and the sacrifice of Lal Bahadur Shastri,who emphasized the significance of national unity, integrity and simplicity.\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In our school there was a special assembly by the students of class 9th<\/sup>. A speech was given by Master Krishna (Class 9th<\/sup> A) to spread the feeling of nationalism in everyone\u2019s\u00a0 heart. Even a skit was conducted on Quit India Movement (Bharat Chodo Andolan) to tell the struggle of every person who was a part of our country\u2019s independence.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

To encourage the co-curricular activities, different competitions were held from classes 6th <\/sup>to 8th<\/sup>. In class 6th<\/sup> there was a \u2018Speech Competition\u2019 where young minds gave their view on Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti. In class 7th<\/sup> there was a \u2018Paragraph Writing Competition\u2019 where the students showed their creative skills. They even pasted pictures to enhance their work. In class 8th<\/sup> there was a \u2018Slogan Writing Competition\u2019 where the students wrote the great words quoted by Gandhi ji and Shastri ji.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It was well said by Gandhi ji, \u2018Be the change you want to see in the world\u2019. Shastri ji also said, \u2018The country must stand on its own feet\u2019. These words tell how Gandhi ji and Shastri ji wanted the nation to look like. We all must abide by their teachings and make this country a better place.\u00a0<\/p>\n
