Stepping aside from our usual steadfast routine, we the students of class 9 were very enthusiastic about our outing to the old age home (\u0936\u094d\u0930\u0940 \u0915\u0930\u0928\u0940 \u0928\u0917\u0930 \u0935\u093f\u0915\u093e\u0938 \u0938\u092e\u093f\u0924\u093f) on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. Certainly, an old age home might sound a bit typical for a visit, unless you’re away from your grandparents and expect to find the same purity of love in them.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

We started our day with normal classes and then headed to the old age home around 11 a.m. The bus ride was pretty usual, consisting of an everlasting gossip session, fun singing sprees, and, ofcourse, our tendency to reach the destination as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

We arrived at the old age home shortly after; it was quite big and gave off a cottagecore vibe. On our way inside, we met a few residents who were out catching some fresh air. They waved to us with bright smiles, which was enough to lighten up our day. Moving further, we settled ourselves inside and started with our pre-planned activities.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

First up was a mashup of old Hindi ’80s songs. From “Hai Apna Dil To Awara” to “Bade Achhe Lagte Hain,” the girls gave their best, singing along with a guitar. How could we forget about our talented poet heads? First up was Aarav with a Hindi poem followed by Utkarsh’s poetry” \u0915\u0941\u092a\u093f\u0924 \u092f\u093e\u091c\u094d\u091e\u0938\u0948\u0928\u0940” which was a really amusing verse from the Mahabharata.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

After all the performances, we even played “Passing the Parcel” among the grandparents, where each one had to pick a chit and do as it said. Many of them sang songs, bhajans, recited poetry, and even shared their stories. We chit-chatted a bit with them, and trust me, the feeling was bizarre.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

It’s not just about their innocent smiles and cheerful talks; it\u2019s much more than that. We were beyond happy to give a few hours of our day to all these people. As we left, their heartfelt gratitude and the joy in their eyes reminded us that sometimes the smallest acts of kindness can leave the biggest impacts.<\/p>\n
